Gig Harbor home temperatures reach 137 degrees

Saying that it is hot in Gig Harbor is stating the obvious.  “How hot” is something else.  At home we have wood deck that the beating sun incinerates during summer days.  The deck reflects heat against the side of house, which is also exposed to the sun.

Today I grabbed my handy dandy infrared thermometer, more pleasantly used for checking wine temperatures, and checked the outside wall of the house.  It varied between 112 degrees and 120 degrees.

The wood patio deck was even more surprising, registering a blistering temperature of 137 degrees!
