Black bear makes daytime raid in Gig Harbor

Gig Harbor – June 28, 2011 -This full grown black bear has been raiding bird feeders in the Gig Harbor area for months.  Today he was spotted at 1:30 PM making an afternoon snack at a local residents home on 114th St. NW

The bear moved off a few yards when the photographer made himself visible.  The bear then stood on hind quarters and faced the man.  The man then picked up a varmint stick and loudly smacked the wood deck, producing a loud report.  The bear then darted off in to the brush.
